Att ha en slarvig fläta på ena sidan måste vara den snyggaste hårtrenden i vår. Och så enkel att fixa själv på någon minut bara. Ett bra och väldigt effektivt sätt att hjälpa en annan människa är att ge din tid. Jag surfade tex in på röda korsets hemsida och där finns det massor av projekt man kan engagera sig i. Man kan gå promenader med människor som inte klarar av att komma ut ensamma, läsa läxor med barn som inte får någon hjälp hemma, nattvandra, hjälpa till vid olyckor etc. Jag är säker på att det ger mer en spendera tid framför TV:n eller tillfredställa sig själv med att shoppa alldeles för mycket kläder :)
Kreativa inbjudningar från modevärldens största hus. En av dessa hade gärnat fått trilla ner i min brevlåda.Dessa bilder hittade jag på www.wallpaper.com, där du kan kika på betydligt fler för inspiration till ditt nästa ditt party.

En av slowmotions favorit tidningar är Love Magazine som för sitt tredje nummer har fått åtta supermodeller att posera nakna på framsidan. Tidningen är känd för att vara väldigt arty och deras omslag är alltid intressanta på ett elller annat sätt. Ett måste för alla modeintresserade.
Nedan är anledningen till varför de gjorde dessa omslag. Vi undrar hur mycket det egentligen kan skilja i mått på åtta av världens största supermodeller :)

I veckan har vi i slowmotion-teamet packat upp nyheterna för våren 2010. Som vi har längtat efter den här kollektionen. Störst insats kommer helt klart från vår praktikant Carro som packat upp, packat om och skickat varor till alla våra återförsäljare. Så vilken dag som helst kommer det dyka upp nya slowmotion varor i butiker runt om i landet. Vi säljer såklart även allt i shoppen!
Berns modevecka är i full gång! Själv har jag mest varit tvungen att jobba (snart kommer Slowmotions vårkollektion ut i butik! Woohoo!) men idag tänkte jag i alla fall lösgöra lite tid och springa iväg och se Ida Sjöstedt och Lovisa Burfitt. Ida känner jag genom min söta vän Cookie och förra årets visning var så där alldeles underbar och sagolik som Ida Sjösteds kollektioner brukar vara. Och Lovisas modevisning ser jag verkligen fram emot eftersom det var hos Burfitt jag inledde min modebana när jag var hos henne på praktik för sjukt länge sen. Som tack minns jag att jag fick en underbar assymmetrisk topp med fläta som var signifik för hennes design back in the days. Använde den hur mycket som helst och ska nog ta och leta fram den igen!
Den Norge baserade finska designern Sami Rintala har gjort om en gammal fiskebåt från 50-talet till ett lyx spa. Istället för fisk ryms den numera av bastu, ångbad, realxavdelning, massage avdelning och allt som hör till. Båten ligger utan för Tromsö och öppnade strax före jul. Hit ska vi åka nästa gång vi har nåt att fira!
I mitten av januari fotade vi Slowmotions höstkollektion för 2010. Stort tack till vårt superteam! Isolde kommer från Mikas modellagentur och började jobba när hon var typ tre år. Snacka om medfödd talang! Linn From fotade bilderna magiska, Sara makeade och Emma stilade till kreationerna så fint. Själv serverade jag kakor - hard workin' girls need lots of cookies!
Hanna och jag tog med oss slowmotion till Premium mässan i Berlin. Det är så spännande och kul att möta nya kunder som kommer ha slowmotion i sina butiker till hösten!

The lunch box fund grundades 2004 för att hjälpa fattiga barn på Meadowlands High School i Soweto, Sydafrika. Organisationen har sedan dess ökat med ytterligare två skolor I Soweto och senast Alexandra High School I Alexandria Township. Något sådant enkelt som att ge barnen ett mål mat gratis om dagen gör stor skillnad för att de ska nå sin potential och slippa ett liv I fattigdom.

Wat ik wel heb aangeschaft is dit uberleuke hempje (met alle geluk van de wereld) van Slowmotion. Sophia en Hanna zijn de twee lieve meiden achter dit merk. Min pappa odlade upp ett persikoträd från en kärna, sådär lite på skoj. Men det har haft några år på sig och nu står det så ståtligt i deras trädgård överfullt av perfekta, saftiga och supersöta frukter. Hade inte en aning om att det överhuvudtaget gick att odla persikor i Sverige. Om växthuseffekten nu har någonting gott med sig så måste det vara pappas persikor.
Går du och funderar över vad du kan göra för att förbättra miljön är boken "Change the world for a fiver" mitt tips. Min granne i London gav mig den här boken i inflyttningspresent och den är full av enkla tips om hur man kan bli mer grön. Poängen är att när man läst igenom boken och tagit den till sig ska man ge den vidare eller köpa en ny till någon annan. Vad är då priset - jo fem pund. Så på detta sätt kan man förändra världen för en femma.

Johan Anäng from Gothenburg, Sweden, had a great job arranging soccer travels to Barcelona. Yet he was not fully satisfied, and in February this year he went to stay at a children’s home in a small fishing village, in Ecuador. Now he volunteers as a guardian of the orphans, working about four hours a day, 20 meters from a South American beach.

- I wanted to save the world as everybody else! Well, I actually wanted to go travelling and to do something meaningful at the same time. So now I volunteer and I study Spanish - it’s like having a vacation meanwhile doing something good.

The official Göteborg City Race and STCC party at the club Push this Saturday was a real success. Modeling in Japan requires a pale complexion. They love the fair skin and that's great for me cuz I'm close to transparent by nature. I don't mind the whole "no tanning" situation for as long as we are in Japan. But as soon as we get back to California, I notice how pale I really am, and how fresh and glowing everyone else looks. For the past years I've panic tanned with the result of major sun burns. But this year I'm determent to take it slow to get a nice golden brown instead of flaky lobster red. We had our first day at the beach this week, and so far so good. Thumbs up for sun screen!

This beautiful, fragile creature lives in a “mariposario” (butterfly house) in the little village Mindo in Ecuador. Mindo is a center of jungle adventures, where you can do mountain climbing, cross country biking and go by ropeways. Me and Mikey took our little girl to the Aquarium in Long Beach today. It's not too far and a perfect half day trip, just to get out of the house. It was not as big as I had expected but very nice. And you know, I love seafood, but to look at fish and "shrimp"...mmmjaaa...so so. But Hanna was excited and that was the whole point. This "Spider crab" caught my attention though. He must have been out clubbing the night before, cuz he still had his "free drink" bracelets on. Thought he looked a bit beat up....
Very nice day though, all in all. We'll be back for sure, since we got season passes. Next time I'll bring a nice bottle of Chardonnay, to go with the fish.
Was a little tired today. My daughter didn't care that mommy and daddy went out with friends last night. She got up at 6.30 am as usual and was ready for a new day. We had fun last night though, my husband is a huge Lakers fan so we hooked up with some friends over at "ESPN Zone" in Downtown Disney to watch the game. Unfortunately the Lakers got beat by Utah by like 2 points in the last seconds. What bullshit! Not that I really care though... I was just excited to get out on a date with my better half. Especially since I was wearing my new hot HOT scarf from Slowmotion! Yaaayy! It was a little to warm for being scarfed up but it just looked so good it had to come with me.

I'm not a big sugar fiend, but there is one thing I can't resist. A Sprinkles cup cake. Lord have mercy on my belly fat, this is so good! Sprinkles first opened in Hollywood I think and then started spreading through out the country and also abroad. My sister lives in Hong Kong and I know she told me they have one there too. We have one 20 minutes from our house and both me and my husband get cravings at times and just have to go get some. There's always a line, but who cares, it's Sprinkles! So fluffy, so moist and the frosting is to die for! A little piece of cake heaven, sleeping with my taste buds.

Aawww...what a week this has been. My husbands basketball season is over and we just got back home to California. As much as I love Japan, it's always good to come home for a bit and get a break. Sad to say tho' we just missed the cherry blossoms this year. If you ever consider traveling to Tokyo, end of March would be the time to go. When the cherry trees are in full bloom and the weather is pure spring! There is something magical about it. White and pink blossoms covering the trees, almost making it look like snow when they fall to the ground. Hopefully next year I'll get to have a beer in one of the many parks filled with blooming trees. Japan at it's best. This is a picture from last year, just outside our supermarket....love! It seems like there are no rules when it comes to bike riding here. I'm sure there are though but you can't tell. I ride my bike all the time, some times with Hanna in the back. I try to be as careful as I possibly can but it's still scary sometimes cuz the majority don't seem to give a fuck. Svishhh! Don't use their little ringer when coming up full speed behind you and no one really cares where they ride. Streets, sidewalks. Anything goes, both directions and wrong lanes. And the bike parkings are always crowded. You're lucky if you can find a spot and even luckier if you can get your bike out without breaking a sweat. Really?! There were NO other place you could put your bike?!!
The 4th and 5th of April, Nordiska museet in Stockholm organizes a Fashion with a Conscience weekend to tie in with the ongoing exhibit, Fair Fashion?, in which Slowmotion takes a part. The program for the weekend includes discussions with well-known figures from the fashion industry, fashion shows and film screenings. Vintage items and eco-friendly fashion will be on sale in the Great Hall of the museum.
Vogue is my favourite fashion magazine in the whole world. I love when I come home and find the UK edition in my mail box. I read it from cover to cover and then I feel very enlightened. At the airport the other day I picked up the French Vogue Collection which collect all the shows for S/S 09 – this is the perfect hand book to get inspired from when you are shopping. My favourite art shop is an on-line shop called POW picturesonwalls.com, here you can find amazing pictures from artists such as Vhilst, Banksy and Vaucher. You have to be really alert though because some of the prints sell out in seriously one second.

You know that Japanese kids are the coolest dressed in the world right?! I see little 4 year old girls walking down the street sometimes looking so fab I wanna copy their style.
There's a little children's clothing shop down our street called Lucy's. I pass it almost every day and there is always something that catches my eye. The owner Ryoko Maeshiro opened Lucy's three years ago. Her mother had previously run a Japanese style hamburger restaurant in the space but retired and Ryoko took over to start her dream. There's a mix of brand clothing, little nick nacks, shoes, vintage toys and off course my favorite, Ryoko's own designs. She's self taught and has only been making clothes for two years. I'm really impressed and I love her way of mixing and matching. Her ispiration is color and things that are different and when I asked her how she would describe her clothes she said"Fun and childish"
I actually ordered a vest from her for my little Hanna. Awesomely cute and I can't wait to see the finished result in a couple of weeks. I'll post a picture of it when it's done for shizzle!
When I was out window shopping the other day, these caught my attention. Shiny rubber clogs....mmmm. I was waiting to get that feeling of"Oh they're so ugly they're cool!"But that never happened, they're just so wrong to me. Elf 2009. I just can't see anyone pulling these ones off with respect, even when it comes to the fashion forward Japanese. I'd be surprised. What outfit could possibly benefit from these flamboyant gnome kicks? I'm very curious though, if you are the proud/crazy owner of a pair of these clogs, please don't be scared to let me know how wrong I am and please send me a picture of what you match these suckers with. Make me change my mind...

Urban Thongs was created by two sisters in Sri Lanka with the motto to have fun while producing flip-flops. Urban thongs was a natural manifestation of this craving for expressing the sisters lifestyle and culture. Growing up in a tropical paradise they felt that urban dwellers needed to be reminded of the simple pleasures in life.

For the all the years I've lived out here I've always wondered what this is and someone finally told me. It's a rice vending machine ya'll! You put your money in the slot and then chose what kind of rice and how much you want. 2,5 or 10 kg bags. How cool is that! I tried to think of something that we Swedes eat as much as Japanese eat rice and if we would have vending machines for it what would that be. I don't know... crisp bread, potato vending machine? Like "oh hey let me just get a sack of potato's since we pass the machine" Hmmm, maybe not.

We've just receieved new bracelets and necklaces from our factory in Czech Republic, where they have loads of amazing glass beads. The beads used for these items are faceted in transparent with a colour inside. Blue, green or pink.

Amos Oz is in town, promoting his new novel Rhyming Life and Death which now is to be launched in Swedish. We were invited to a breakfast talk with him and Amos spoke about how curiosity can solve self-conciousness, because by imagining the other you’ll get greater understanding. He also refered to his other novel How to Cure a Fanatic, as being fanatic is, according to Amos, the opposite of being curious.
